Most Clackamas County Businesses Given Green Light To Reopen

OREGON CITY, Ore. — One county in the Portland metro area got the green light to move forward with the first phase of reopening today. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown announced Friday afternoon that Clackamas County could allow certain businesses to re-open if they were ready. In Phase One, businesses face the following restrictions: Restaurants and bars for sit-down service: Requirements include 6 feet of social distancing; a limit of groups to parties of 10 or fewer; food and drink consumption must end by 10 p.m.; and workers are required to wear masks. Since Clackamas County had a decline in COVID-19 cases, enough hospital capacity, sufficient personal protective equipment for health care workers, and a contact tracing system, it got the green light to move forward with the first phase reopening of their businesses. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown gave the go signal to certain establishments to reopen if they were ready. These businesses, however, have to follow certain restrictions such as mandatory wearing masks for all its employees and social distancing. Restaurants and bars for sit-down service should limit their groups to parties of 10 or fewer. Barbers, salons, and massage parlors should serve customers on an appointment basis only.
